What types of fabrics can I dye with Rit products?
Our All-Purpose Dye works best on natural fibers like cotton, wool, and silk. For synthetic materials such as polyester, acrylic, or acetate, we recommend using our Rit DyeMore for Synthetics line.
How long does shipping take for my order?
Standard shipping typically takes 3-5 business days within the continental United States. Expedited shipping options are available at checkout if you need your supplies sooner for a project.
Will the dye stain my washing machine?
No, dyeing in a washing machine is safe. We recommend running a 'clean cycle' with hot water and one cup of chlorine bleach immediately after dyeing to remove any residual pigment from the drum and plastic parts.
What is your return policy for opened dye bottles?
For safety and quality control, we can only accept returns on unopened and sealed products within 30 days of purchase. Please contact our support team to initiate a return label.
Is Rit Dye non-toxic and safe for home use?
Yes, Rit All-Purpose Dye is non-toxic and safe for use in the home. However, it is not food-grade, so we recommend using separate stainless steel or plastic containers for dyeing rather than your primary cooking pots.
How do I ensure the color doesn't fade over time?
To lock in color and prevent bleeding, we highly recommend using Rit ColorStay Dye Fixative immediately after the dyeing process and washing your items in cold water.
